What's Your Self-Esteem Level?

Calculating your results...

About This Quiz

This quiz is adapted from the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (1965), one of the most widely used and validated measures of global self-esteem in psychology. It measures how positively or negatively you evaluate your own worth, competence, and value as a person, ranging from a stable, secure sense of self-worth to a predominantly negative self-view.

Self-esteem is not the same as confidence in specific skills or arrogance. It is a fundamental orientation toward your own worth. Research links healthy self-esteem to better mental health outcomes, greater resilience, stronger relationships, and higher academic and professional achievement. Chronically low self-esteem is associated with depression, anxiety, and vulnerability to unhealthy relationship dynamics.

Use your result as a starting point for reflection rather than a verdict. Self-esteem can change with intentional work through therapy, compassion-based practices, and building a track record of meaningful accomplishments. If your self-esteem is significantly impacting your daily life, relationships, or mental health, please consider speaking with a therapist who can support lasting change.

Research basis: Rosenberg (1965) Society and the Adolescent Self-Image.
